OUR SERVICES AND PROGRAMS ARE ALL AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

In Person

In the privacy of a safe place, where no-one else knows who you are, in person therapy often feels the most comfortable way of working for many people.

On-Line

With on-line therapy you are able to choose the space that feels most comfortable for you. This has become a very popular way of working and is proving to be very effective as well as more convenient for many clients.

By Phone

For people who do not feel comfortable working in person or via video on-line, working by phone is a very useful way of talking, although it may limit what therapies can be used for most  effective outcome.

COUNSELLING &

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

Counselling is a talking therapy that enables you to talk through your issues with a non-judgemental and supportive therapist. It helps you to express yourself openly and gain clarity on your situation.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is a specific form of Counselling which gives additional help and support in working through symptoms of issues that you might encounter on a daily basis, for example stress, anxiety or depression. CBT offers a more structured form of Counselling which helps you move towards improving these symptoms at a pace that

you feel comfortable with.

At the Therapy Hub, Counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy are offered as the same package because clients usually start with one process (talking about their issues and responses) and move onto the next process (wanting to change situations and responses). They do this at different rates, however, so the therapist will always work at a pace that is confortable for you. There is often a moving back and forth through processes as the brain assimilates and consolidates information.

Useful for: Anxiety, Stress, Depression,

Over-worrying, Panic Attacks.

PSYCHOTHERAPY

Psychotherapy uses a range of techniques to

help you make changes in your life and

overcome problems you may be encountering.

You may have a diagnosis that you want help with,

but this is by no means a necessary requirement.

You may simply be experiencing behaviours,

reactions, thoughts or feelings that you do not like and want to change. You may not understand

where these come from and Psychotherapy

uses a range of techniques to dig deeper than

Counselling and get to the bottom of

why they happen, why they feel uncontrollable,

and how to make specific improvements for your future.

The Therapy Hub is able to offer diagnosis

if you and your therapist feel it appropriate

but you don't yet have one. Your therapist will

help with making this decision and explain

the process to you as there are specific

protocols to follow for each diagnosis.

Useful for: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Addictions, Phobias, Complex Grief, Depression.

CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY

Clinical Hypnotherapy uses advanced hypnosis techniques to by-pass the conscious mind and communicate directly with the subconscious mind.

The advantage of doing this is that the conscious mind, when triggered, can often 'sabotage' or block efforts for change as a protection or defence mechanism, making desired changes difficult and time-consuming. This can be prevented by working with the subconscious.

Contrary to what is often believed, you don not sleep when in hypnosis, but go into a very deep relaxation. The therapist cannot make you do anything against your will, and nor would they want to in any case.

You experience hypnosis like a very deep relaxation, sometimes remembering the session or parts of it and sometimes not. Either way, changes will take effect much more quickly than with conventional Counselling and Psychotherapy, so although the sessions are more expensive, they are often more cost effective in the long run, especially if you have already tried conventional therapies that haven't worked.

Useful for : Pain Management, Phobias,

Skin Conditions, Migraines, Addictions,

Skin Conditions, OCD, IBS.

NEURO-LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) uses a range of techniques and exercises to create change in

behaviours and emotions. It is based on the premise that our experiences and thoughts, how we express them

and how we encode them affect how we

feel and behave in the present and continue

into the future. By interrupting this

'programming' and making changes to it,

we can make improvements.

In this way NLP is similar to CBT,

but is much more fastidious in challenging thoughts and behaviours with a view to making rapid change.

For this reason, NLP is often used in conjunction with hypnotherapy techniques because they can help by-pass the conscious defence mechanisms which often sabotage progress and speak directly to the subconsious part of the brain where changes are welcomed and desired.

NLP is often used for business coaching and sports coaching where it has a proven track records, but is also useful for many personal issues.

Useful for: Phobias, Addictions, Self-confidence,

Business Coaching, Sports Coaching.

TRANSACTIONAL ANALYSIS

Transactional Analysis (TA) is a specific technique

used in Psychotherapy which is based in the

behaviours and reactions we have within ourselves

and which adversely affect us and our

relationships with others.

It examines your behaviours, thoughts processes

and emotions in order to determine where they

came from and therefore how to change them.

It does this by exploring your individual actions

and interactions with others, enabling change for the better in your everyday relationships.

For these reasons, TA is especially effective for

helping with couple or family relationships.

Although this can be done in Couples or Family Counselling, it can be equally effective for individuals who want help with couple or family relationships.

Useful for: Individual Reactivity, Anger Management,

Couple Relationships, Family Relationships,

Work Issues.

LIFE COACHING

Life Coaching employs a range of techiniques to

help you identify goals, clarify what obstacles

slow down your progress, and work towards

removing the obstacles to achieve desired outcomes.

People who find Life Coaching useful do not typically

have clinical issues like anxiety and depression

holding them back, but more generally have a

sense of just feeling 'stuck', not being where they

want to be in life, and not knowing the

best way to make changes they want.

As the name implies, Life Coaching asks you about all areas of your life;  for example relationships,

social interaction, health & fitness, work,

education and general day-to-day living in order to

help you find balance, fulfilment and

well-being across all areas.

Useful for: Parenting, Difficult Behaviour, Stress,

Feeling Stuck, Dissatisfied or Unfulfilled.

BUSINESS COACHING

More in depth than Life Coaching and taking into account legal requirements like Employment Law, Health & Safety and Equality & Discrimation, Business Coaching

employs a range of techiniques to help you identify goals, clarify hindrances to progress, and work towards achieving desired outcomes specifically around

your business and business goals.

People who find Business Coaching helpful do not usually have specific issues like anxiety and depression holding them back, but more generally have a sense of just feeling 'stuck' or not being able to make the progress they want.

Business Coaching is often employed when

changes are needed or planned, and an overall

plan of action would be helpful.

Business Coaching looks at all aspects of your business; for example relationships, interactions, work-life balance, employee relations, CPD, management & leadership, general day-to-day operations.

Useful for: Action Planning, Trouble-shooting,

Stress, Change Management, Conflict.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness uses a range of taught techniques and exercises to help calm the mind and body, with the

aim of calming anxiety, constant worry and

negative self-talk, overly emotional responses

and pain.

The therapist works with you to notice your repsonses in the moment, and teach you

more useful responses that enable you to calm yourself in the short term and become

more resilient in the long-term.

The techniques are all gentle and informal, and

shared with the aim of helping you become

proficient in them all in order to be able to apply them in your everyday life as your own coping strategies.

Much is made of Mindfulness Meditation, but

this is only one aspect of Mindfulness in its full application and you will learn many techniques for making changes to your life, not just one.

Useful for: Stress, Anxiety, Negative Self-Talk,

Panick Attacks, Pain Management.

FREE INITIAL ASSESSMENT

The information on these pages is a very short summary of each of the therapies offered, and

is not intended to give you full information

about what can be done to help you.

You may not have any idea what therapy

would be suitable for you or what way of working would suit you and your situation best.

For these reasons you can book a

FREE INITIAL ASSESSMENT where you

can explain about your situation and what

you would like therapy to help you with.

By doing this you get a much better insight into

how the therapy would work for you, and often

just the reassurance that you can actually be helped

is enough to give confidence to make a start.

As the name suggests, the Initial Assessment

is entirely free and there is no obligation to

continue with therapy. You will be sent a short questionaire before the assessment session, and

you can either complete it at your own pace

before the appointment, or wait and complete it

with your  therapist during the session.

Either way, your therapist will take time

during the Initial Assessment to fully understand

your situation in order to

suggest the best way to help you.
