Therapy-Hub UK
I qualified in 2011 and have since worked with clients with a wide range of concerns, for example trauma (including PTSD), grief, suicide, relationship issues, addictions, parenting issues, depression, and anxiety.
I aim to be engaging in my work, understanding your struggles and helping you to move forward from them using soluition-focused approaches. I recognise how difficult it can be to begin the counselling journey, and I aim to make it as easy as possible for you.
I am an integrative counsellor, which means I am trained in a variety of counselling techniques and approaches, able to choose the best evidence-based approach based on what you say and how you feel, so that together we can form a treatment plan to reach your desired outcomes.
I aim to make sessions conversational enough to make you feel comfortable, helping you to gain insights and put things into perspective and make sense of your issues in a way you haven’t been able to before.
My main approaches are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which focuses on you and your inner beliefs & behaviours and Transactional Analysis (TA), which focuses on your relationships with others. I find the two combined are highly effective in helping people achieve improved outcomes. I also use DBT, EMDR and EFT.
I am equally experienced with in-person, online video or over the phone sessions, and take into consideration that it is the connection and understanding that we form which is the most important predictor of success, not the modality of the counselling.
I have found that video counselling is highly effective and believe that this is because the client feels secure in their own safe space. It also makes help accessible to everyone, no matter where they are geographically or what restrictions they have physically, and I am very keen to promote this as a way of helping people.
More and more people are asking about online counselling, and are not sure how it works. Please watch my video which explains more about it:
At the beginning of each person’s counselling journey, I always feel that I am reaching out a helping hand to offer support, guidance, and empowerment. I really hope that you will take my hand and together we can get you back on track.

psychological services to help you.
you can book using that therapy as your guide.
If, however, you don't know what kind of help
would suit you best, but do know what issue you would
like help with (e.g. Anxiety, Grief, Trauma),
you can book using the issue as your guide.
You may not know what your issue is called,
or know what type of therapeutic intervention
will suit you best, which is very normal.
The Therapy Hub will help with all of these
questions so that you can begin your therapy
reassured that you are on the right track.
The Therapy Hub specialises in:
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),
Loss & Grief including Suicide,
Childhood & Parenting Issues,
Addictions including Opioids,
Anxiety, Depression & Stress,
Chronic Pain Management,
Child & Parenting Issues,
but also have qualifications and experience in several
therapeutic interventions and issues so you can be sure of appropriate help and guidance whatever your needs.
If you don't think you see your issue on our list,
please don't hesitate to make a general enquiry with us
because we will have a therapeutic intervention
to suit you or will refer you to a different
therapist / organisation specialising in your situation.
FREE INITIAL ASSESSMENT
The information you will find on the
Therapy Hub website about different therapies and
how they work is very general for basic understanding.
A Free Initial Assessment helps to determine
what help is available specifically for you
and how it will help you.
It is normal not to know what kind of
therapeutic intervention would suit your issue.
In reality, several might suit it.
Similarly, you may not know what to call your issue,
which is also common.
In reality, it could be several issues.
A recent real example of this being a child whose
grandparent had passed away and was feeling
anxious and depressed, and even suicidal,
so their behaviour had deteriorated
and her parents didn't know what to do to help, so they were becoming angry and frustrated.
An Initial Assessment will help you begin to understand
your situation, and help determine
what issues are most pressing for you to start work on.
A Free Initial Assessment will not be a full diagnosis.
Although a Free Initial Assessment may
point towards a specific diagnosis,
if you would like a diagnosis or feel one would be useful,
this will be part of on-going paid sessions.
We have the same qualifications and use the
same tools as other organisations,
but unlike many we do not charge extra or separately for a
diagnosis. It will form part of your normal sessions.
At the time when you book the Free Initial Assessment
you will be sent a questionaire to complete with details about
what you would like help with and why.
You can either complete this and return it before the assessment,
or complete it with the therapist during the session.
Either way the therapist will ensure that they have enough
information to give you guidance on how you can be helped.
There is no obligation to have any further sessions
after your Free Initial Assessment.
Counselling and Psychotherapy sessions are 1 hour long,
which constitutes 50 minutes of discusssion
with you, and 10 minutes for writing up of notes,
action planning and any follow up by the therapist.
Other therapies, for example Clinical Hypnotherapy,
are booked in longer sessions because they take
much longer to complete a full session.
Each type of therapy and its corresponding length of
session can be found on the Therapy Hub Pricelist.
Bookings are always made for an agreed,
specified time and paid for in advance.
Clients often like to stick to a regular day and time,
but this is not essential.
You can attend in person, by phone or over the internet.
This will be arranged with you when you book each session,
but is flexible so that if your circumstances change
and your way of accessing the session needs to change,
this can be accommodated.
The use of internet for sessions has grown greatly in
popularity during Covid and has proved to be a
very effective way of continuing to work with
people when they otherwise would have no help.
Clients can find it more relaxing/less worrying
to be in their own environment.
If you don't know how you would access sessions over the internet,
this will be fully explained at the time of booking.
During your first session, as much detail as possible
is taken about you and your situation,
along with some information about what improvements
you would like to make and in what order of priority.
At the Therapy Hub all therapetic interventions are
collaborative, so there will always be a 'mix and match' of:
Your input, Therapist input,
Explanations about the therapy and how it works,
Exercises to practice in the session,
Exercises to practice in your own time,
Feedback and Questions, Monitoring progress
If you would like further information
or to find out how you can be helped,
don't hesitate to make an enquiry.
At the Therapy Hub there are Treatment Programs available in
specialist areas of work. These are:
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD),
Loss & Grief including Suicide,
Addictions including Opioids,
Chronic Pain Management,
Anxiety, Depression & Stress,
Fears & Phobias.
From specialist knowledge and experience it is clear that
most people need a minumum of 3 sessions and more usually
6 sessions to begin making positive progress in these areas of work.
For this reason, the Therapy Hub offers discounted rates
when 3 or 6 sessions are booked and paid for in advance.
For the same reasons, these discounts are available
across all session bookings at the Therapy Hub.
You do not need to know all of the dates and times
you want to book in advance; once the advanced payment is made
the Therapy Hub will help you keep track of how many sessions you have used.
You can take advantage of the discounted rates at any time,
so for example if you want to start with a Free Initial Assessment,
then try your first session at full price to see if you think it will suit you,
then try the discounted three sessions paid in advance,
then continue with the discounted six sessions paid in advance,
all of this is possible as well as other combinations.
